I am part way through the Easter holidays and in the middle of expeditions so I have decided to be a girl for a little while. So far I’ve done 2 expeditions totalling 3 nights and 4 days. My boots have been muddy, my waterproof coat has been wet and my rucksack has been stuffed full for a long enough time now. While it is sat in the corner waiting for the next expedition next week I have decided to be a girl!
Here’s how it’s going to work:
- I’m going to wear clothes that are pink, pretty and made out of delicate fabric. This is because all of my outdoors normal stuff is either in the wash or packed.
- I will straighten or curl my hair depending on how the mood takes me. My hair is in such a mess that it will need a lot of attention.
- I will wear make-up: eyeliner, mascara, blusher, foundation, lipstick, the works! The black bags under my eyes caused by sleepless nights on expedition will need a lot of covering.
- I might even file my nails and paint them. The filing would help to repair all the jagged tears and breaks caused by tent pitching.
I might enjoy being a girl, but I have a feeling that I will be looking forward to grubby clothes, tangled hair and no make up before the day is out!
Have a happy girlie holiday – but come back to the real world soon!
Hello Brown One. How does is it feel to be the colour of dullness instead of iridescence? How does it feel to be related to brown things? What kind of things? you ask. Well, there’s… And I don’t think we’ll go any further with that list.
A warning about playing unacceptable April 1 jokes. Just imagine if the wind had changed while you were playing the brunette game. That you were irrevocably dun-coloured. Wit and charm departed with the dawn. To be as others (for that is what the Philistine – or was it the Pharisee – wanted to avoid). The pair of you – condemned to being ordinary. It doesn’t bear thinking about.
