I am part way through the Easter holidays and in the middle of expeditions so I have decided to be a girl for a little while. So far I’ve done 2 expeditions totalling 3 nights and 4 days. My boots have been muddy, my waterproof coat has been wet and my rucksack has been stuffed full for a long enough time now. While it is sat in the corner waiting for the next expedition next week I have decided to be a girl!

Here’s how it’s going to work:

  • I’m going to wear clothes that are pink, pretty and made out of delicate fabric. This is because all of my outdoors normal stuff is either in the wash or packed.
  • I will straighten or curl my hair depending on how the mood takes me. My hair is in such a mess that it will need a lot of attention.
  • I will wear make-up: eyeliner, mascara, blusher, foundation, lipstick, the works! The black bags under my eyes caused by sleepless nights on expedition will need a lot of covering.
  • I might even file my nails and paint them. The filing would help to repair all the jagged tears and breaks caused by tent pitching.

I might enjoy being a girl, but I have a feeling that I will be looking forward to grubby clothes, tangled hair and no make up before the day is out!
